Brady Drums

Philosophy
Brady Drums have always taken a different approach to crafting drums. We never adopted established manufacturing techniques. All inventions were developed around the idea of how a drum should sound, not the easiest way a drum is made.
We are a custom drum manufacturer and, unlike most other small drum companies, produce all of our own shells. We start with the sourcing of the most important ingredient, the timber. Most other companies purchase their drum shells from a large drum shell manufacturer, made out of cross laminated maple or birch in a steam bending technique. The drums are only finished and assembled.
The most challenging part of drum making is of course the crafting of the drum shell. Our unique sound is created by the crafting of a unique drum shell. Nothing sounds like a Brady, because nothing is built like a Brady.
We don't use large machinery or computerized technology. All of our drums are 100% handcrafted using simple wood tools and small machines which ensures 'one-drum-at-the-time' attention to detail.
As a boutique manufacturer we produce extremely limited quantities compared to the large musical instrument manufacturers or the furniture industries. Still we take pride in being environmentally responsible; all of our solid timber for block and solid drums is taken from recycled surplus trees originating from newly constructed mine sites and industrial developments. Many timber species utilized by us are not being used commercially.
